This is a remarkable statement made by Moses. God has revealed to us Himself as - a Deliverer. Right from Genesis to Revelation. In different ages, through different prophets and finally through Jesus Christ our savior and Lord.
Exodus 5:1 "Let my people go..."
God has shown Himself to be the deliverer of mankind, right from the fall of the first man. In Chapters 1 & 2 of Genesis, we see God as a Creator. When Adam and Eve, naked and trembling, in fear of what would happen next, hid themselves behind a tree, God came searching for them. Genesis 3:9, "But the LORD God called to the man, "Where are you?". God came searching for man. Adam did not go in search of God after He sinned. God promised them a great salvation, a great deliverance to all mankind, for all ages through His only begotten Son Jesus Christ.
Exodus 3:8, "So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians..." God said that He had to come down to deliver His people. Jesus Himself came down to deliver us from slavery and bondage. (v.7) "I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering." God is for us. He hears our cry. He looks on us in His mercy when we suffer. He is concerned about our sufferings. This is why, He sent Jesus - our Savior. When Jesus died on the cross, shed His precious blood, died and rose again, He commanded the devil, "Let my people go" and His sacrifice won the victory for us. Our slavery was broken. We are free because of the ultimate love-sacrifice of Jesus. Jesus is our deliverer.
If you are bound by drugs, alcohol, sex, lust, smoking, tobacco, depression, suicidal tendencies, sadness, loneliness, work and peer pressure, immorality, use of abusive language, etc. The Lord wants to set you free today. Hebrews 13:8, "Jesus is the same yesterday and today and forever." He is still is the same business of deliverance as He has always been. Give your life to Jesus.
When Jesus is in your boat of life, be sure He will cause you to live in peace amidst the storm. God is bigger than your storms. God is always in control of your life, even though you don’t see Him or feel Him near.
The disciples were sore afraid when the storm hit them so suddenly. They panicked. They had seen Jesus do mighty miracles and healings. Yet, they failed to recognize that the Master was with them in the very same boat. The mighty winds and the water entering the boat
