Isn’t it so weird when someone wears goth clothes? I mean, ew, they are just so sad and negative. I mean why is it so hard to just be like everyone else? It’s so dumb. I just don’t get it. They are obviously depressed and weird. I bet they listen to Slipknot and cut themselves. They should be wearing happy bright colors!
Conformity: corresponding in form or appearance.
Who are we to tell people what they should and shouldn’t wear? Should we really let a color, or a piece of clothing let us dictate what type of person someone is without getting to know them? There are many people of the “goth” style that are very happy and choose the style out of, believe it or not, fashion. Some people like the look. Much like others are stuck in their own era’s fashion sense. Sure at first you see someone and automatically put a label on them. I know I walk down the halls of school and start labeling “scene queen, jock, stuck up snob, regular person, fake emo kid, and cheerleader”, but I do not let the labels dictate who the person is. You can be surprised by how a person acts aside from the way they dress.
The person wearing a bright colored shirt could be the next person getting landed in therapy while the goth just got their report card back with straight A’s and are beyond happy. As the saying goes, “don’t judge a book by its cover”. Yes there are people who conform to the label but that shouldn’t let us dictate every person with that style.
There is no real reason while someone should be afraid of someone in “goth clothes”.
It’s an arrangement of pieces of fabric cut to fit a pattern.
It is the sewn into a garment.
Its purpose is to be sold within a store to consumers.
Are we really going to stand and judge someone on that?
If we are, then what is the right style? Is there a style that is “right”? Let me know what that is so we can establish that it is normal and we can have everyone dress like that. While we’re at it, we’ll only produce those kinds of clothing so we can all dress the same way and no one can be judged. This way, we can all be happy.
Sounds good? I didn’t think so.
Let’s try not to judge others.
