Poetry: Conundrum

by Geoffrey Schmitt

Created on: January 14, 2010

A wondrous little piece fun

A puzzle ending with a pun

To solve it you must find a clue

Within the riddle told to you

So that when you answer wise

The pun appears from its disguise

To make you laugh or even groan

Because the answer now you own.

There was a lady on the street

And past her three fine men did meet

One was a foot and one by car

The third on horse was riding far.

Now which of these was known to her

Equestrian, pedestrian, or motor car?

The answer it is plain to see

The horse man knew her formerly! (horse manure)
