Console reviews: The Nintendo DS

by Brian Mccoy

Created on: January 13, 2010

The Nintendo DS is a great system, and the first of its kind. DS stands for dual screen. The DS is just that. The Nintendo Ds has 2 screens. The top is just a regular gaming screen, the bottom, however, is a touch screen. It is the first of its kind in gaming. The NIntendo DS is also great due to its game library.

LOOKS: Well, while being a little bulky looking, the Nintendo DS system is rather good looking. The DS is made in a clam shell design. It flips open to reveal its dual screens. The power button is inside the ds system. The stylus is stored in a little area in the back of the DS system. Both of the Nintendo DS's screens are fairly large. While not as large as the Sony PSP's screen, its still very good.

                                                                                                       I give LOOKS: 7.5 out of 10

CONTROLS: The Nintendo DS has great controls. It has a touch screen, the first of its kind in gaming. There is four letter buttons, a d-pad and of course the left and right shoulder buttons. These are all great, but the touch screen is what makes the Nintendo DS great. You sometimes have to draw shapes on the screen, or control the whole game with the touch screen in games like The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hour Glass. There is also a microphone on the middle of the DS. In some games you have to say something into the microphone or blow fire out, something like that. Overall the controls on the Nintendo DS are great.

                                                                                                        I give CONTROLS: 10 out of 10

Overview: The DS is made great because of its great control and awesome game library. You won't be dissapointed!

                                                                                               Overall: 9.5 out of 10
