YES!   Shoes are always worth spending the money.  Geez, ladies, it's the one thing we have that can make us happy in life.  Shoes don't judge you; they only offer you pure enjoyment and the pleasure of wearing them to make you feel better about yourself.  Now don't get me wrong, I do think there's a time and place to splurge on a fabulous pair of Jimmy Choo's or the divine Manolo's.  There is also a time where you have to accept the designer knock offs are okay too.  Most of us don't have the budget to purchase expensive shoes every season.  Darn it anways!  Why can't we all be like the celebrities with limitless shoe closets and designers throwing their newest creations at us?  Just get so jealous sometimes.  

So I say go and treat yourself from time to time.  Why not?  If you think about it sometimes those designer shoes are more comfortable and just plain out fit better than let's say shoes from Pay-less.  Not to mention if you find a nice pair that is season-less, you can wear them everywhere.  The new trend is to be fashion forward anyway, not cheap, just thrifty.  A great place to find fantastic deals on designer shoes is DSW.  I love that place!  They even have shoes on-line.  Don't underestimate that it's a warehouse or "leftover" shoes.  Most of their shoes are relatively new from recent design seasons, yet their prices are something you won't have to take a Tums for afterwards when you have buyer's remorse. 

My one request to my husband upon my death ( which hopefully won't be for a long time to come ) is that he makes sure I am buried with a fabulous pair of shoes on.  I want to make sure I enter heaven on the right foot, no pun intended.  I may have to go find them myself and set them aside the "what if" scenario, but at least I'd be prepared and the stress would be of his shoulders!  Amazing how a pair of shoes can make a woman feel so good even in the beyond. 

I digress, but I am certain that if you buy yourself a pair of expensive shoes you will not regret it.  Be proud of your purchase.  Enjoy them thoroughly when you wear them.  Long live the designer shoe!
