This beautiful little island that stretches 13 miles across is located off the Pamlico Sound of the outer banks in North Carolina. Its natural beauty is definitely the epitome of what beach life should represent. This beautiful little island has the most visually stunning array of things ranging from unique looking seashells not found on commercialize beaches to mountain high sand dunes that simply take your breath away. The horses roam wild and carefree, it shows how relaxation and tranquility permeate throughout the island that is bestowed with natural beauty.

May I add as well the benevolent nature of the inhabitants? The people of Ocracoke present their little island town with pride and superb craftsmanship that is reflected in the quality of service. Ranging from their friendly restaurants that are just as classy as five star establishments, but nevertheless, reasonably priced meals that are prepared fresh, made from the finest ingredients. Their hotels may not be the Hilton, but at least the service is adorned with welcoming smiles that will do anything to assure the comfort and quality for the tourist's stay. It is worth to note that their hotels are exceptionally clean and there is a restaurant adjacent to this one particular hotel (the island inn) that presents the same excellent quality of service that is equivalent.

This beautiful island and its exceptional beauty are perfect for any outdoor activity one may have interest in. The island itself has an array of things to do from biking, hang gliding, Para-sailing, deep sea diving, and simply if you just want to catch some solar rays. Along the trip to Ocracoke entails a ferry ride across the Pamlico Sound. Along the ride you will catch vivid glimpses of neighboring islands with its pronounced presence that just makes you feel you died and gone to ocean heaven. By all means, if you get a chance to visit Ocracoke Island, take advantage of this beautiful paradise for you will have an experience like no other.
