Writing for the love of writing is a form of unconditional love. A true writer writes from the heart and a great writer writes for nothing but to express love for writing.
My first writing job I can not remember. All I know is I have written so many over the years without realizing I have long been in love with writing. A true writer cannot deny his first true love.
Over the years I have been known to be someone with the most outrageous imagination, I live in my own world drowned in the sea of thoughts trapped in my head. I have always known I have the knack for arts but refused to recognize my gift for writing.
A true form of art; writing is an art. The writer is the artist and paper and pen the medium of art. Writers channel imaginations and creativity through words, visual artists through their art pieces. Expressions vary but bonded by one, the love for craft.
Writing has many forms, but it needs only one thing. Love for writing. Writing for the love of writing is developed through the years.
Like any form of love, the love of writing wanes. But, as the saying goes it is never forgotten. A writer may take breaks from the job, but throughout that break little forms of writing takes place. In truth, writers cannot stay away from writing.
Realizing the love for writing happens anytime, it just hits you. During my days in middle and high school, I have been writing skits for several classes. My works were met by awes and wide eyes from friends and alike, did I realized my love for writing then? No. For me, writing has always been a comfort activity; a vent for my frustrations and an auxiliary skill if situations call for it. But, I do not deny the joy I feel whenever I see the words I have written. I always feel good every time after writing, that should have told me I was already writing for the love of writing. The cause of my realizing my deep love for writing lies in writing; it was through writing down activities that I loved doing.
A writer has genuine love for putting thoughts to words. Pay is secondary and glory optional. It may not be in the same order for other writers, but that is what writing for the love of writing is all about; loving without expecting returns, a true unconditional love.
