Will Jason Kidd Help The Lakers?
You're the Laker organization and your looking at your roster. You're trying to figure out the pieces to the puzzle in order to get back into contention for another championship. Smush Parker has been good but not consistently good. A veteran point guard that reads the floor better and can make big plays? The New Jersey Nets are looking to shop their star point guard Jason Kidd. Do you make moves towards shifting players to get Kidd or do you get rid of some of your low priced players to acquire Kidd?

A mega trade would be in order to sustain Kidd. With the legal woes of the divorce that Kidd is going through that is threatening to become a nasty public battle that will involve the entire organization. It would be a similar situation like the one that got Kidd traded from Phoenix to New Jersey. The domestic violent arrest filed by his current wife put a damper on the Suns organization. Kidd took that situation and turned the New Jersey Nets franchise into a contender winning the Eastern Conference twice in a row and going into the NBA finals twice. With a new scene Kidd could come right into Los Angeles and make the same impact.
Being apart of the Laker organization whom do you trade for Kidd? Parker would be one the candidates and Luke Walton. Trading a promising young player would give the Nets and opportunity to groom and mold the players. With Kidd playing along side Kobe Bryant and Lamar Odom your chances of a title are starting to become brighter. Kidd isn't getting any younger and being on a title contending team would be ideal for him. He is definitely one of the top four guards in the league. An unselfish player with the talent to make those around him better is something that the Lakers need.
