     We stand with our heads lifted to the sky wondering what our purpose is, questioning are place in this world. This feeling may come after a lifetime of regret or a feeling of yearning for a greater truth. Our quest for the meaning of our lives is a constant battle we crave to uncover.  I think we all can reminisce of moments when we asked what the bigger picture in our existence is; where our answers can be found. Unfortunately I cannot shed light in this area either, since I am searching for these answers as well.  Many rely of spiritual guidance to provide them with the solutions they need, which is very comprehensible. I believe a person’s faith can lead them to a road of personal salvation and peace. However there are some questions that spirituality cannot answer or any other type of reference of information. I am not going to go through all the questions that I have, since the list can exceed this article.  However there one question that resonates in my mind constantly; who am I? It seems that a person should be able to tell who they are and what kind of person they have become, but this is not as easy as it seems. There is the person we believe ourselves to be, due to the thoughts and beliefs of others. We often wear this mask around everyone we know and love; however, is this a true reflection of our inner being? There is also the person we keep hidden from the world who differs from our daily persona.

     I truly believe that we are a combination of both; however we do not acknowledge this out of fear of the consequences. This is why some people feel trapped within themselves without freedom to express their true feelings. I can only say the only way I have found to remedy this problem is through self reflection.  Looking into yourself and becoming aware of who you are, and accepting the outcome. Though this is easier said than done, then we all would have an answer to this question when asked. This is a process that takes a lot of time and practice that in our society doesn’t seems possible. Yet with enough effort and daily training we can make a monumental amount of progress. There are many questions about ourselves and the world that we have that often go unanswered. I truly hope that before the end of our existence that we somehow find these answers we crave and find our truth. Until that time all we can try to do is search for these answers within ourselves and perhaps we may find peace.
