Poetry: Loving you

by Amy Alves

Created on: January 11, 2010

ADDICTION:

falling in love with you was like an addiction

my sentence. oh my sweet conviction

.

loving you was like the sweet air i breath

crisp in energy tastes too sweet

.

loving you was like a time bomb gone ticking

each second in contrast with the clicking

.

loving you was like being alive

i did not for one second feel as if deprived

.

loving you was like the angry caged mouse

trapped inside of my temple, my house.

.

loving you was like living in the far past

every secong we spent went by much too fast

.

loving you was the good and the bad

loving you made me happy made me sad

.

but in the end i look back and i smile

and you don't know it yet but you are the father of my child

.

because loving you was all i had left

but you left me and now im a mess

.

loving you. i guess you could say.

i just wished that this love wasn't laced with this pain

.

loving you. was worth every minute.

but i love you.

so i'll let you leave.

but i love you.

just promise you'll come back to me.
