Poetry: Icicles

by Dreidle Flare

Created on: January 11, 2010

Surrounded, they entangle me

The blades, they circle above

The night has kept them

Frozen silently in place

Granting me escape until now

Daybreak’s morning star

Slowly awakens on the horizon

My heart’s rhythm quickens

Her heat is fast approaching

And the drops are falling all around

Its only a matter of time now

The Sun casts her beams

Her rays bouncing glints of light

Off the walls of my melting prison

And the daggers, they begin to fall
