“Love is patient, love is kind” are true words from the Holy Bible. The word love may express feeling and emotion that once identified; must be supported in action. Patience and kindness are actions which may be assumed to follow the phrase, “I love you”. When a person hears those delicate words - that simple, but powerful phrase for the first time in a romantic setting; candlelight dinner, a walk on the beach, in the privacy of one’s home, s/he may assume that certain actions may follow to prove that love.
For example, the couple in the romantic love state will begin spending time together, speaking into the wee hours of the morning, support each other in argument, cook each other dinner and help out with tasks with which one may be more apt than the other. If one is going through a rough time, the other will be supportive and listen more than speak, hold the other while s/he is crying and attend events that may relate to the tragic event. Reversely, the couple will celebrate the joys in life together; rallying each other on in laughter, jokes and enjoying happy events from wedding days to childbirth!
The emotional side to love makes our hearts swell, our heads spin and life becomes more beautiful than it once was as one life weaves into another. Our once fuzzy spectacles of life become clear, new, and there is hope inspired in this feeling. There is a knowing of being wanted, needed, and oftentimes rather than not – gorgeous, sexy and there is drive where there may not have been before.
We arise in the morning, shower, dress, and eat a hearty breakfast tingling from head to toe with the bliss of the telephone ringing to answer our lover’s voice on the other end. Perhaps pre-love we doubted certain aspects of our lives – our careers, finances, etc. Now, the dawn approaches with zest and we face the day much stronger than the meager persons we once were. There is valor in our stance, vigor in our speech, actions and demeanor just from the knowledge that “S/he loves me!”.
Yes, the daily motion that spins into positive life reminds us that love is a feeling inside of us that strengthens our life perspective! Love is also an action that supports how we feel for the other person. For example, if a person were to say, “I could never live without you. I will never let you go.” and not call their professed lover for weeks on end, one might deduct that the statement was not true to begin with.
On the other hand if your lover states, “I can’t believe I found you after all of these years! You’re right here next to me and I couldn’t be happier!” while grasping your hand and gazing adoringly into your eyes. Then you enjoy dinner, dates, and other real life events for years to come, you can rest assured that you’ve heard the truth. A true love will stay by your side through thick and thin. Through the good times and the bad – no matter what. True love fights, endures, and is strengthened by life’s joys and trials.
There are songs, poetry, and movies dedicated to the mysterious word – love. To truly experience this wonderful feeling, once must be ready to work at dedicating themselves to the other in the act. The end result will be an experience full of happiness and second to none that will last a lifetime.
