No, the concept of freedom is definitely not overrated. Freedom is the ability to express ideas and desires without inhibition. It is the ability to live without repression; the quality of stating an opinion without having to worry about severe consequences. Nevertheless, the definition of freedom encompasses many different concepts and is appropriate within many different situations and circumstances. The concept of freedom is not overrated because it possesses various components, forms of individuality, and an idealistic essence.

Freedom possesses various components. It involves the concept of the freedom of thought, as well as the freedom of expression. When people are free, they no longer have to be afraid. Or at least this is the general basis for this association. Freedom is connected to happiness and gratification. The importance of freedom is that it is significantly in contrast to oppression. When people are oppressed, they are unable to work through their desires. Instead, they have only their hopes to hold on to. Yet when freedom is obtained, these same individuals are able to pursue those desires, making their dreams all the more significant and beautiful. Another component of freedom involves its concrete definition, such as the freedom of a country, or the freedom of enterprise. The vast components that comprise the concept of freedom automatically prevent it from being overrated.

Freedom is not overrated because it consists of forms of individuality. Part of the concept of freedom is the allowance for an individual to express their veritable nature. Everyone is different. Therefore, through this definition of freedom, these differences can be appreciated. Freedom enables even the most sentimental and important characteristics of people to be revealed through their work, or within their general nature. Because of this contribution of individuality, freedom is definitely not overrated.

Another reason as to why freedom is not overrated is because it possesses an idealistic essence. Freedom is beautiful because it possesses a concrete definition, as well as an idealistic entity. The idealistic component of freedom is that people will be free from suffering, or sadness, or despair. This freedom will in turn enable people to find the positive aspects of living, and to no longer be consumed by the horrors of society.

Nevertheless, freedom is more than an overrated concept. Instead, it is a concept that comprises many different forms and definitions. It can be abstract as well as concrete. It can have an idealistic definition as well as a veritable form. This comprises the beauty of freedom. Something so beautiful cannot be overrated.
