Moving on should be so simple
But letting go is not as easy as it seems
It is harder than you would think
To say goodbye to all those broken dreams
When we turn to look behind us
There should just be lessons learned
But in my past all I see
Is a history of regrets and too many bridges burned
I have walked away from so much
And sometimes had to run
Even when I did not want to
For I was not ready for this chapter to be done
I was forced to turn the page
Way before I felt that I could
Deep down I knew all the reasons
And I knew that I should
But hearts and time, distance and love
They have no rules, and make no sense
No matter how hard you try to fight
Against this ache there is no defense
I want to leave this pain behind
But then there is something else I will have to do
Moving on means letting go
Which means letting go of you
Even though I know its time
I still want to wait for those broken dreams to come true
But the choice is move on or forever wait
For broken dreams never do

Poetry: Broken dreams
Moving on should be so simple
But letting go is not as easy as it seems
It is harder than you would think
To say goodbye
I saw her falling
From such an unfathomable height
Gravity showed her no mercy
As her body plummeted to it's demise
Yet
When we met, I had so many dreams
If I printed them on paper, they would take up reams
But as you started to control me
Too Much
If someone has the answers?
I wish they would clue me in.
For life is a game,
I can’t seem to win.
Once I
broken dream
it was a dream
that seems
full of light
