Poetry: Icicles

by Elena dal Friuli

Created on: January 10, 2010   Last Updated: February 05, 2010

As morning begins and we walk about
By your beauty we're stopped, of this there is no doubt.

Glittering, shimmering in the morning light
Slowly you melt in the sun so bright.

Sparkles of colors reflect from around
As droplets of water fall to the ground.

A curtain of ice you formed through the night
But with the new day you open to light.

As shadows fall and temperatures drop
Your droplets of water will come to a stop.

A new curtain you'll form during the night
New passersby will amaze in a new morning light.
