A blanket of snow covering the country lanes
The cold winds blow across empty fields filled with snow
A glittering white quietness fills the land of the folk who are plain.
Icicles hanging from barn roofs glitter in the morning sunshine
An impish mittened hand breaks off a tiny icicle to lick
as families enter covered buggies to join the traveled lines.
The rhythmic clop of hooves and the soft sound of wheels
bring families and friends to a grand wedding celebration
a time when two hearts and two lives in love will seal.
As if God himself decorated in honor of the event
The roof of the home is trimmed with glittering icicles
and they know a warmth and love from above has been sent.

You
