There are several factors that a fantasy football player must factor in when deciding who to start and who to put on the bench. It starts right off when you go to draft your players and right on through the season. Deciding on whom to start and whom to sit is the biggest factor in whether or not you end up winning your league. Here are few pointers on choosing who a person should sit and who they want to ride the pine.
Right off the get go, a good fantasy football player will have prepared well for the draft. The strategy that goes into selecting the starters and bench players has to be the one of making sure that your starter and bench player does not have the same bye week. If so, you are going to be stuck with no QB and you are going to have to go on the waiver wire to get a new one, far less better than the one you had. Any fantasy football player knows that trades and free agent accquistions are going to happen during the season but still there has to be excellent pre-draft preperation.
The next thing that a fantasy player should look into is what team is your player playing. Your starter may be playing a very good team but your bench player may be playing a weaker team. As the owner, you are going to have to make decision of who to start and who to sit. These choices like this is the make'em or break'em point of fantasy football. If you take a gamble and it pays off, you take a pat on the back. If you fail, suck it up and move on to the next week.
Next, you want to check a players injury status. All fantasy football sites have information that gives you the status of a player. If your starter is out, you want to make sure that your backup is put in its place. There have been millions upon billions of times where a owner will keep a starter in that is not playing due to injury. Missed points. Another big factor in deciding who to start and sit.
The most important thing when comes to setting your starters and bench players in fantasy football is paying attention to detail. A good fantasy football player will know to keep up on the status of his players and will also know of past performances and if the player is on a roll or not. There is alot of work in preparing for a fantasy draft if you look to win any leagues. The bottom line is that deciding who to start and who to sit is the answer to a fantasy player winning in any fantasy football league.
