Apart from those that I wrote about in my other article about champagne cocktails, there are dozens more that are absolutely delicious! Champagne cocktails are elegant and taste great, and there are plenty of recipes to go around for any occasion. Here are a few of my personal favorites!
RASPBERRY LIFTOFF
1 measure raspberry vodka
1 measure fresh raspberry juice
1 measure orange juice
Champagne, chilled
Raspberries
DIRECTIONS
Shake the vodka, raspberry juice, and orange juice vigorously over ice cubes until well frosted. Strain into a chilled flute and fill with chilled champagne. Stir gently to mix and dress with the raspberries.
CLASSIC CHAMPAGNE COCKTAIL
1 sugar cube
2 dashes of Angostura bitters
1 measure brandy
Champagne, chilled
DIRECTIONS
Place the sugar cube with the drops of bitters in the bottom of a chilled flute (I prefer to place the sugar cube in the bitters until it soaks and totally takes on the color, but to each his own, you find what suits you best when preparing the cocktail). Pour on the brandy and top up slowly with champagne.
LONDON FRENCH 75
2 measures London gin
1 measure lemon juice
Champagne, chilled
DIRECTIONS
Shake the gin and lemon juice vigorously over ice cubes until well frosted. Strain into a chilled wine glass and fill with the chilled champagne. If you want to dress it up a bit, add a cocktail cherry.
THE BENTLEY
1/2 measure cognac or brandy
1/2 measure peach liqueur, peach brandy, or schnapps
Juice of 1 passion fruit, strained
1 ice cube
Champagne, chilled
DIRECTIONS
Mix the cognac, peach liqueur, and passion fruit juice gently together in a chilled highball glass. Add the single ice cube and slowly pour in the champagne to taste.
So try on one of these beautiful cocktails for size and see what you like! They are all guaranteed to impress and sure to please!
