Runescape is a unique game that focuses on levelling many different aspects of your combat. In melee, there are three main parts to focus on: attack, defence and strength. This can come in handy when you're withstanding arduous battles or simply want to show off your wealthy equipment.
But why level up strength, you ask? Levelling up attack improves your consistency and allows you to wield greater weapons. Defence is the opposite, lowering an opponent's consistency and allowing you to wield greater armour. But strength seems to be left out in the cold, with only one valuable benefit: the maximum power at which you can hit. Well then, strength should just be left aside, you must be thinking. You can't obtain anything to significantly improve your battle skills; you can't defend yourself without the aid of consistency and defence. Is the strength skill pointless?
No. In actual fact, many train only in this field of combat. Firstly, it aids you with non-combat based skills. This is highly beneficial for agility and Barbarian Training, two areas you'll probably approach later on in Runescape. Strength is also an astoundingly useful skill if you're engaging in Player Vs Player combat, as it allows you to retain your health with prayer while inflicting great damage on opponents. I suggest a balance in the three skills, no matter which direction you think will take you to the most victories in battles. However, Runescape is a very flexible game, allowing you to make your own decisions to achieve your intended goals.
Predominantly, your strength skill will be focused on throughout this article.
*The first tip that can be offered to an aspiring Runescaper is to level up Prayer, while training your combat skills along the way. So while you're climbing the chain to 99 in the strength skill, you'll also be gradually ranking up in Prayer as well. This way, you have an extra resource to use while in combat. In addition to this, prayer is a skill that contributes very slightly to your combat level but gives your battling outcome that little more.
*Train attack, defence and strength. It's been mentioned before; you can make your own decisions with your account. However, a combination of all three melee skills is highly recommended for the best account in combat.
*Upgrade to a member. This allows you to train strength at a phenomenally fast rate. From rock crabs to powerful dragons, you'll feel very occupied and know the money has
