Poetry: Summer holidays

by Deborah Kells

Created on: January 08, 2010

Children swimming happily in the azure pool

Free with holidays and not working at school

Mums and Dads easily soaking up the golden sun

Teenagers giggling and looking out for fun

Water glistens lazy blue and vastly wide

Sun beats down on front, back and side

Hot day’s end comes with all tired out

All  the crowd has gone there’s no one about
