Poetry: Snow storms

by Lynette Bell

Created on: January 08, 2010

The Snow Queen

Quietly she descends

announcing her arrival

with a blanket for every shape

driven by blinded purity

Her decree is every color

must match her white ideal

a wonderland created

as a postcard only for her view

She muffles every sound

She wills nothing to be heard

as her icy weight amasses

a test for the works of man

All bow to her frozen face of wonder

All submit to her icy law

Even time ticks a little slower

While life awaits her will to thaw
