The influence of the media on our thought processes and beliefs undoubtedly affects the way we perceive our lives. We are taught from an early age of the differences between right and wrong, good and bad, yet somehow we continue to doubt the seemingly doubtless. Believe it or not, I am an optimist; I see the world as half full.
Change can have a negative impact on our outlook of life and our view of the world, however as Darwin once said, it is those who are most responsive to change that will survive, not the strongest, nor the most intelligent of species. These words of wisdom have provided me with the fuel, the belief and the desire needed to power my dreams. If one seeks to achieve their goal, one has to be dedicated and determined, but most importantly one has to process change in a positive manner.
Since a young age, I've always seen the best in people. I believe in development of one self, but more importantly in the development of others. Motivation is the most important tool needed, in order to achieve success. The positive attitude I have towards the world has allowed me to feel motivated and determined, in the toughest and most difficult of situations.
Of course there are people in this world who are less fortunate than others, but it's these people who inspire me the most. Through simple means, such as smiling or offering praise, anyone can make a difference. There is nothing as rewarding as realising that you have made someone happy. There is nothing more rewarding than realising that you actually have a half full glass of water, opposed to one that is only half empty.
Life is much like a game; you only have one chance. Alive and healthy, I am thankful for the opportunity to play this game of life. I am determined, inspired, motivated and committed to remaining happy and to ensuring that those around me remain happy too. The world is too large and too complicated to ponder over the negatives. Bad things do happen. People do make mistakes. Viewing the world in a brighter light has enabled me to realise all of the good and mostly unnoticed things that have influenced my life.
Do I have a half empty perspective of the world? Of course not. My perspective is, in the simplest of terms, unique from any other, in its own special way, positively and definitely, entirely half full.
