Racial profiling is the most disgusting things I have ever heard of since I came here to the States. Yes, as you might suspect, I am a Muslim and proud of it. Now, I am not writing this article just to say that I am proud of my religion, but I am responding to somebody who said that Muslims should be patient with the U.S government when it profiles people just because they are Muslims.

I cannot believe that some people think that we, Muslims, should show some understanding on how horribly American Muslims are treated in many situations here in America.

Why should we be understanding and patient with somebody who hates our guts and is not showing any kind of empathy or sympathy toward us? Are you understanding and forgiving yourself? I don't think so. And I don't think that America is helping people overseas with anything whatsoever.

All I can see is that America wants to attack any country that has the potential of being a super power whether it is a Muslim or non Muslim country. Take the example of China. Can you tell me why there are some uneasy feelings between the two countries? It is obvious that America doesn't want anybody to be more powerful.

Why shouldn't Iran or any other Muslim country develop nuclear energy while most non Muslim countries already have nuclear programs and weapons? Why when it comes to Muslims, they shouldn't have nuclear programs. Should Muslims be just puppets for you to guide in any situation?

Or maybe you want them to be welcoming and tell you please come to our country and destroy it, because what you call development and aid we see it as destruction and war. That's the truth unfortunately.

You want us to believe that America is helping Iraq and Afghanistan while it is actually destroying them and killing innocent men, women and children. Why should we believe the opposite when all we see is destruction and murders.

I am wondering why most European countries do not have as many terrorist attacks and attempts as the U.S does? I don't think that people hate you for your freedom. I think they hate you for all the wars that you triggered here and there in the name of freedom.

Since when did freedom mean occupying countries and destroying everything that once served or was the pride of those countries.

Sorry but destruction and wars mean just that: destruction and wars. If these wars do not stop, why should Muslims be understanding and forgiving? Are you forgiving yourself? Japan does not hold anything against you even though America used the atomic bomb on both Hiroshima and Nagasaki and killed thounsands of people. I don't think that Americans would have done the same if found in the same situation.

Did America apologize for killing hundreds of native Americans? Did it apologize for bringing hundreds and hundreds of slaves from Africa and made miserable slaves out of them? Why should we be forgiving and understanding when you are not? Be patient? For how long? A year, two, or maybe forever. If some people can swallow their pride, others cannot. And those who cannot, for some of them, all they can do is write their indignations out. The lucky ones are of course the ones who have the choice to leave this country and live in a much more welcoming one.

Until then, do not hate us for expressing ourselves by telling the truth. I am afraid that, someday, we won't even have this freedom of expression because it will be called terrorist thinking or unlawful writing instead of creative writing. Who knows!
