Time Keep On Ticking
"New year, same goal." ~ Joe King
Time keeps on ticking into the future... I can hear "Fly Like an Eagle" by the Steve Miller Band humming through my head.... So the Gregorian Year 2009, or the global calendar, is approaching its end in less than 24 hours... Time really does fly, life goes by so fast, it really does just pass us by... whether we are in tune, tuned in, aware, or not... of course, life is a trip- a never tired cliche...
We look for miracles that are wax-fantastic, as if simply being is anything short of a miracle, but the reality is that the greatest miracle in existence, aside from existence, is for us miniature models of clay to learn to open up our eyes and to see the miraculous in the mundane, IT IS ALL A MIRACLE... To approach life with the wonder and awe and excitement and interest and curiosity and reverence of a child, to be endlessly fascinated by "it all"... this is the greatest miracle!
It is a maddening world we live in... I ponder and reflect upon so many things... I wonder why we, the proverbial we as in human species, use the time and energy, truly non-renewable resources at our disposal, to serve such evil or counter-productive ends...? Nothing short of mind-boggling. Why hasten the inevitable? Why focus one's intent on death and destruction? Why not focus on life, on perpetuating it for as long as is humanly possible- innumerable variables, like asteroids colliding with Earth and other such similar situations, notwithstanding?
The senseless acts of terrorism and the fanatics who perpetrate the senselessness, whom are bound by an ideology that mirrors Star Wars like trivialities and Darth Vader like take overs of the Universe are more than a pity or a tragedy - these rogue elements defy description really! There are some things, either bad or good, that even words cannot explain!
Is this realm currently mired in a holy war? A Good versus Evil being played out in the cosmos... evidently so! It happens every day within each one of us, and each one of us is a universe! To think, some "guy", one of too many, has a thought pattern that is twisted so tightly backwards in the wrong direction he is really intent on taking over the world in the name of Allah. To put it very plainly- that's just weird! He was striving to take down a man-made bird in flight-not a lofty goal!
Thank G-d the plot was foiled and 289 lives were spared, but still, he shouldn't have gotten that far in
