Reflections: Worry

by G E Barr

Created on: January 06, 2010

Sometimes there are reasons to worry and I am currently in one of those times.  In a conspiratorial action I have been set up, though I committed no crime.

I just spoke with my eldest son.  The same thing has happened to him.  His accuser is a Choctaw woman.

I've never been afraid of my son.  He just isn't that kind of a person.  He's in his early twenties.  Working.  Going to college.  Stands on his own.  He was a good brother to his sisters and their children think he's a-okay.  He's still a good brother, a good uncle.  A good son.

Has a good sense of humor.  Smart.  Keeps himself up well.  Never harbored any racist attitudes.

My son is nothing like his father, rather he's more of an individual.  Wants to go into business and is currently studying in that academy.

He came home early from work one night, GPS'd her cell phone because she was not answering.  Got the address.  And found out the hard way that the young woman he'd been taking care of was a con artist who gets around a little.  But he did not react violently and took his pride and went on his way.  Knowing him, he might have even made a smart ass remark.

I wonder if smart ass remarks are against the law.  I think they could be.

Parents worry about their children.  It goes with the territory.  Maturity takes time.

Worry is how a breakdown begins.  It eats at a person's rational abilities.  Tears them down.  Ages them.

I've had a breakdown before, so I know about these things.

It is easy to sit back and tell someone not to worry.  A little more difficult when one is faced with an attack.

I have told my son not to get involved with certain types of women.  He did not listen to me and he did not listen to me because he'd been conditioned by his environment to think that I was a total moron.  I'm sickened all over again.

Children make mistakes.  So do adults.  That's how we learn sometimes who we really are.  Our real worth.  What kind of a world we really live in.

I think the first thing I'm going to do is play my violin.  Before it goes back to the Pawn Shop.
