The beauty of being alive is we can adapt and make changes to our life. No matter how terrible we feel about ourselves, our career and our relationship with others at this moment, we know that we don’t have to live with our situation and we can make positive changes to our life.
Have you ever been asked which part of your life would you like to relive? Most of us would say that if we could only go back to a certain time, we will do things differently. Well, it’s definitely not possible to go back in time to try to change things. However, you can make changes to your life right now and have a new start.
How to make today the start of your new life?
Accepting and recognizing what is troubling you. Being able to recognize why certain people, event or situation makes you upset and frustrated is an important step to self healing. From recognition, you will also uncover any underlying reasons for your unhappiness. With acknowledgement, you learned to understand and accept. Make a decision to make positive changes to your life. If you have always wanted to be a better communicator, join a communication course, read books or join clubs that will help you improve on your communication skills. Set long term and short term goals. Your goals may be planning for a holiday, changing job or furthering your education. Goal setting gives us a purpose in life, makes us look forward to the future positively. Do something nice to commemorate the start of your new life. You can buy something nice for yourself or go for a movie or treat yourself to a nice dinner. Call friends or family members whom you have not spoken for a long time and let them know you have been thinking about them. It is believe that people usually feel good about themselves when they make positive connection with people. Maintained a healthy diet free from junk foods and sugary drinks. Food and drinks with high sugar content destabilized our blood sugar and gives us the highs and lows. A healthy diet also gives us clarity in thoughts and the energy to maintain a positive attitude in your new life.
Draw on your experience as it contains the basic fundamental of a new beginning and a positive future. It’s your past experience that will help you make today the start of your new life.
