Gentlemen, Valentine’s Day is on February 14th, have you marked the day in your calendars?  Please don’t forget, because the fact that you planned for the event is the key to success.

You wouldn’t want to be turned away at the restaurant, would you?  Or being told that the place is all booked up?  So make reservations now, while there is still time.

Take her some place nice.  You could choose a classy place with soft music, candle light and gleaming silverware; or an intimate Italian bistro with a Mediterranean atmosphere.

Make it dinner and a movie, or even better, dinner and the theatre.  Take her to the ballet, or if she is not into ballet, to a good play.

Have you considered something a little different?  How about a helicopter ride over the city?  Day or night, these rides are worth every cent.  Before going up in the air, customers are welcomed in a private lounge for a drink before take-off and receive a photo to preserve the memory for ever.

In case you were thinking of giving flowers, you might want to check your sweetheart’s preference.  Not all women like roses.  Some of them cannot stand the smell of them.  Other just think them very unimaginative. Perhaps she is the kind of girl who would prefer tulips, narcissus or a bunch of lilies-of-the-valley.

Then again there’s always jewelry.  Nice diamond or pearl stud earrings; a gold pendant; or a silver bracelet.  The jewelry store will have something to fit your budget.

Is real jewelry not in your budget?  No problem.  Pop into the local Swarovski store and be prepared to amazed by the variety of quality crystal.  Whether you’re looking for jewelry, figurines, or candle sticks, there is something for everyone.

Then there’s always custom jewelry and some of the pieces are exquisite.  Whether you’re looking for gold, silver or pearls, some of those items look like the real thing. 

If your lady is not watching her weight, you could surprise her with chocolates.  Not a box from the local supermarket, but something from a real chocolatier.  There will be a variety of bonbons to pick and choose from.  Not to mention that these chocolates come in an elegant box with a beautiful silk ribbon.

Whatever you decide to give, keep your sweetheart’s personal taste in mind.  What you give is probably not all that important, as long as it’s given with love.  That means looking deep into her eyes, a hug that tells her how much you love her, and a kiss she will remember.
