Ways of working: Your approach and attitude toward work

Your approach and attitude toward work is vital in determining how much success you will have now and in the future. Whether you are positive, negative or apathetic about your job the key is to put on a happy face and smile; fake it till you make it right?

A negative approach to work-

You can approach your job in a negative manor, coming into work late because you couldn't drag yourself out of bed on time, doing your tasks with spite because you're not paid enough, and treating fellow employees or customers like they're the last person you want to see. This is not the kind of attitude that will get you anywhere but the unemployment line. Eventually your boss will catch on that you just don't want to be there and he'll help you along with that dream because he'll fire you. If you're good enough to cover it up around them be sure that you fellow coworkers will eventually get fed up with your dreary attitude and bring it to your bosses' attention. Being negative can also affect your paycheck! This could be in the form of less hours because no one wants to be around you or if your check is based on commission you might see a decrease in money because customers just don't want to be around your negative attitude. Either way being negative will not help you or anyone around you.

A positive approach to work-

Having a positive approach to work is by far the best choice! Being positive, or for that matter forcing yourself to be positive, will have your boss, fellow coworkers, and customers alike noticing you and flocking to you. Be positive by any means necessary even if it means forcing a smile. This is extremely effective because eventually you'll forget about your problems and realize your overall attitude has improved from smiling. Your boss is more likely to give notice to your positive attitude and increase your pay and hours, other coworkers will enjoy being around you, and customers are more likely to interact with you because your positive attitude is so inviting.

Next time you're at work and having a bad day try putting on a happy face! It's better for you and those who must be around you if your attitude is positive and caring. The key here again is to fake it till you make it.
