By divine appointment
All are predestined to exist
Each given a specific window of time.
One life, one opportunity
To play ambiguous games
Struggle through ongoing battles
Fulfill duties of mankind.
Three essential cycles
-Youth-
Free from care
To learn, grow, and explore.
Where time stands still.
A place the soul accepts what life offers.
-Maturity-
A time to glean from the generation before,
Then produce offspring to carry on
At the point we cease to exist.
-Time accelerates—
Hence, prime is left behind.
Suddenly faced with more history than future.
-Aged-
Time slows
Soul’s energy wanes
Contemplation sets in …
Will the being who existed
In this space and time
Be worthy of heritage,
Or – like others,
Eventually be forgotten?

and now your anger has decreed
my punishment to clean my room
to sweep and polish, shine
