“THERE IS MORE TO LIFE THAN VIDEO GAMES.” Wii or PS3, which is better? This could be argued to either systems benefit, but in order to truly determine which would be the best we have to look at everything about the system. Personally, I am not a game designer so I could not tell you all the ins and outs of the system. As a parent I can tell you which one I prefer and why though. The Playstation 3 may be the system that does it all, but it does not really do it all does it. Sure, you can get up and move around some, but not like with the WII. Parents need to get their children into physical activities once again, and the Wii is one system that has taken a step towards getting children active again. I have or have had almost every game system ever made. These include Atari, Coleco, Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Playstation, PS2, PS3, PSP, Game boy, game boy advance, SP, DS, Wii, Game cube, PC, Tomy Tutor Computer games, 360, N64, and more. However, I try to make sure the kids, and I call it quits in a timely manner, in order to do things outside. My stepsons and I play the Wii more than the other systems, and I do not think we have sat to play any of the games so far. We are always up and moving. This is especially useful on rainy or cold days when outside activities cannot be done. Sure all games are good to improve hand eye coordination, and some education can be achieved through games. This does not mean we cannot add the benefits of exercise as well. Everything is getting more and more high tech and this can both be good and bad. With higher technologies come a more sedentary lifestyle then in previous years. With a more sedentary lifestyle comes obesity, and other health issues that has increased over the past few years. I used to prefer Playstation consoles to Nintendo consoles because they seemed more high tech, with better games and graphics. Technology can be and is a good thing, and when Wii combined gaming with exercise, I became a lover of Nintendo once again. I still love my Playstations, but Nintendo has produced a smart alternative to the traditional video game. I would say I have come full circle in my love of video games. I began as a Nintendo fan, and have ended up a Nintendo fan.
