Why do people blog?

There are many reasons why people like to blog.

A blog is a tool that can be used in several different ways.  Let us say that a business wants to draw customers to its store. It is a way to market the products that they sell, share community news and local shopping mall events. It will interest their readers to stop by, browse and buy something that they like.

The key to being a successful retail blogger is to link your store with others. If your blog is about fashion and your store carries designer clothes, you also want to link to stores that are close by that sell accessories and shoes.

If you blog about your artwork you will share a picture that you drew, and post it on the net for others to enjoy.  You can even make videos of your drawings and post them on your YouTube channel.

Some people love to blog about beauty care; they also create how to videos and post them on YouTube.  It gives your reader a visual idea of what they need to do to make their eyes look bigger, lashes longer, face smaller; you get the idea.  You can even advertise products that you use or sell and use your blog as another form of marketing.

Another type of blog is for authors, who need to start an internet platform of readers.  People will want to read about your likes, dislikes, your books, events and anything else they can get their hands on.  If you become famous they want pictures, movie news, interviews, juicy gossip and they want to know about your relationships, radio and TV appearances.

Some people blog a daily journal, to vent out their frustrations about their personal lives, career choices, relationships, friendships, although some of these can be entertaining others can be boring, depending on the style of the writer.  Humour is best in this category, making it lively and fun like tweets that appear on Twitter.

Writers blog to find satisfaction either in career, hobby or an outlet for a talent they have and want to nurture and grow into something wonderful. I have seen blogs about family, children and personal journals for family, and friends to read.

The cutest blog I have ever seen was one about a mother who had twins. Pictures of the twins from when they were brought home from the hospital till the age of two.  I have not checked it lately but it was like a documentary of all their little accomplishments, how as toddlers they were learning how to cook, draw and read. Quite an amazing story if you think about it.

Blogs inspire people to write about their passions, friends, family, and pet peeves.  A blog can be inspiring, entertaining, make you laugh, bring out emotions about a certain topic or idea.  Blogs are a way of life and they bring joy, contentment and satisfaction into one’s life.
