A Little Known No Fail Way Of Catching BIG Pike.

I have been fishing for several years.  Finding Success at both river and lake fishing was not as easy as first thought. After some three seasons at attempting to catch anything, I stumbled across an amazing way of catching big pike.  A good buddy of mine and I re-discovered fishing when we were "of mature years".  Having spent sometime talking about this strange yet beguiling sport, we decided to try and "do" some fishing.  So armed with a plastic shopping bag filled with old fishing tackle some "bait" bought at the local angling shop, various coloured spinners, and an assortment of hooks, ground bait. and some maggots we "took off"  looking for some water.

At first we like most did not know what we were doing.  Casting into trees across the other bank, hooking into my partner's hat and any number of completely "unsussed" happenings seemed like par for the course.  Slowly but surely we began to master the "art" of fishing. After three seasons of getting "up to speed", with the various legalities and clothing required to have a comfortable fish, we started catching.

Now before attempting to catch big pike you need to have all the right gear.  Otherwise when you do hook into a big one trouble can hit you big time. Without long forceps, alloy lined gloves, very large high quality landing net and other vital pieces of "landing equipment", our pike and you can come unstuck with dire consequences.

So we now have everything in place.  Now this is how you can catch big pike.  First, all you need is the right piking rod. Double treble hooks, wire trace and depending on how far out you need to cast a two ounce pater noster rig.  The best days to "hunt", is on a grey overcast very cold morning with the wind coming at you so you are casting in the teeth of the wind. Hence the right clothing is vital for a comfortable fishing session.

For the bait all you need is a “frozen” sprat bought from any supermarket.  I used to buy about £2.00 worth of sprats which could last several sessions. No need for buying those different coloured sprats from the local angling shop costing £5.00 for four sprats. Note when you freeze your sprats make sure you wrap them individually  as they will be difficult to separate when you are on the bank in the teeth of a gale force wind.

Next, set  your pat noster rig and leave about 2 feet
