Many times we hear the phrase "marrying my soul mate".  But, how many of us REALLY know what that means?  I can honestly say I did marry my soul mate and what an awesome thing that REALLY is!  In my mind, one knows when you've met and connected with your soul mate when you find that you are complete with that person in your life. My husband completes me.  It's a lot like beginning a sentence and having someone else take over the sentence at a point and be able to continue you along the same lines that you began.  That's what being married to my soul mate means for me.  And, we've been married for 23 1/2 years now and I STILL feel connected to him as soul mates. 

We have many of the same thought patterns, we operate in accordance with many of the same morals and values in life.  When you have been blessed to be connected with your true soul mate, you know without a shadow of a doubt how the other feels long before you have to ask.  We can not even be in the same room - - - not even in the same house really, but we feel on a very deep level normally what the other is feeling.

When you're with your soul mate, you aren't afraid to be yourself at all.  You aren't afraid to say what's on your mind for fear the other won't understand.  We 'get' each other.  We've known this from a very early stage of our relationship together. We attended college together and we knew it even then, and we were very young.

We trust our feelings and thoughts with the other.  We know that if we have a thought about something in life, that the other is going to back us whole-heartedly and that's a very secure feeling.  No matter who else says something, we can trust that our soul mate has our back in all situations.

Soul indicates something very deep and personal.  When we have "soul", we have feelings deep down inside that cause us to think and feel a particular way.  Having a soul-mate is much deeper than just being togehter on the surface. It allows us to feel things in a very special way.  It allows us to share on a deep, emotional level that no one can understand really but us.  Yes, we've experienced many things together - some good - some not so good.  But, because we are soul-mates, we've been able to dig deep within us and that has carried us through whatever we've had to endure together.

It is an awesome thing when people live to find and connect with that soul mate that God created expecially for them!  That's what my husband and I have had all these years and we don't take it for granted at all.  We cherish it, we nurture it every day and we thank God for it and always ask that he keeps us in this place for a very long time!
