Having spent the last few days exploring the web for 'free' classes, I found several good sites. Suite 101 offers a variety of courses that would benefit many of us. The writing courses might be of special interest to those of you who write on Helium and at various other sites. Classes offered cover a wide range of writing skills and interests, from writing for kids to creating your own fantasy world. They even offer a short class on copy editing.
Learnthat.com will offer you links to free classes offered at various links on the web. Among those are courses offered from some very prestigious colleges.
The subject matter offered on the web as free courses varies widely. You can learn a language. You can learn to play the guitar. You can take a class on calculus or world history or art. Teach yourself to knit. Learn how to prune a tree. Learn to budget. Learn how to use a search engine or how to excel at digital photography. Free GED prep classes are available. Time2learn and the Learningtree may offer what you are looking for.
Seek and ye shall find.
Go exploring. It's fun and it's informative.
