Vernal Equinox - Bah
All in this northern clime
Are desperate for Spring
Sniffing each breeze
Praying for the snow to go
And stay gone and I too
Want winter to be over
But would prefer to go
Straight to summer
A nicer season by far
For my tastes – Spring
Feels so messy to me
There’s mud everywhere
And snow-mould – there’s
That – and the cottonwoods
Start sending that fluff
Into the air so
Sneezing is the order
Of the day
Everyone suspects
Everyone of swinedemic
This go round and
The coming of the Aporkalops
Nah – take me right
To warmth and summer
Please, Spring’s got
Too much uncertainty
This year for me

The sap buckets have been put away.
The maple trees are budding.
The river is running free
