WARS
Wars are fought in many ways.
Mine was fought in my younger days.
Though my fighting is over as my age will attest.
Forty years have past and my soul knows no rest.
In my mind I see the death and the pain.
In a war where nobody gained.
We fought, killed and died, and for what I still don’t know.
I went because I was told that’s where I had to go.
Soldiers on both sides had to pay the price of a governments greed.
After it’s over, to hell with a soldiers needs.

Poetry: Sacrifice
At seventeen, a wife and soon three children by age twenty-three
Heard things I did not want to hear, and saw things I did

Love's Sacrifice
We haven't had it easy
we've made such sacrifice
For all the damage that he made
we've paid a heavy price.
But
I stood before the altar,
bathed in scarlet red.
Lifeless yet alive
You called for me in silence.
Free yet chained,
satiated
The Ones We Remember
The ones we remember,
'Lest we forget',
While their lives were short-lived
Without regret,
The cost
God's sacrifice
The love of God is my inspiration....
Flows from His heart for all creation.
God loves the red, the white
