I'm sure we have all seen the signs and wanted to ignore them, but is that the best thing to do? As hard as it is to face that the end is in sight, it is probably for the best. Some relationships start with stars in our eyes and a strong attraction, but over time if that is all there is, it will most likely fizzle out. So what are some of the signs that it is over? It is always easier looking back to see what might have been obvious to others at the time, but here are some sure signs that he is ready to move on.
* You call him, but he sounds distracted and asks if he can call you back and then doesn’t return the call for two days.
* When you go out with friends, he is more interested in talking to your girlfriend than with you.
* He asks if you would mind if he doesn’t go to your family Christmas dinner this year.
* You reach over to hold his hand at a movie and he asks if you would mind not doing that in public.
* You give him a hug and he returns it with a few small pats on the back.
* You call him to talk, but he says he is tired and wants to hit the sack early, but it is only 7 o’clock.
* He gets a phone call when you are over and has to go into the other room to take it. When you ask him who called he doesn’t make eye contact and tells you it was his mother.
Usually when it’s over he has probably known about it for awhile, but hasn’t been able to tell you. Sometimes he will say it’s because he doesn’t want to hurt you, but usually it is because he doesn’t know how to say it’s over. I have always found that when a relationship is over, even though I am sad about it at the time, when I look back I can see how it would have never worked out and that the break up was for the best. When your instincts are kicking in telling you there is something wrong, it is probably best to listen and have a heart to heart talk with your man before you waste too much time on a relationship that for him has already ended.
