Essays: Observing people

by Shianne Evans

Created on: December 29, 2009

When I am at school I almost always giggle when I think about how important it is to some of these girls to have the perfect hair and makeup.  Sometimes I curse the person who invented make-up because maybe if there was no make-up everyone would be the same.  No more eyeliner, mascara, cover up.  I can think of a million other things way more important then painting my face on.  Us girls waste so much time putting on make-up and worrying about what others think of us.

Another thing I observe about people is the whole racial thing, I mean what if we were color blind or just all were the same race I wonder if the world would be different.  The biggest thing I asked for Christmas this year was world peace, I honestly believe that only some horrible event will finally bring us all together.  I wish that people in this world weren't so cruel, for example Adolf Hitler.  Maybe he was bored with his life and decided that Jewish people weren't good enough.  One of my friends recently wrote a paper on him and said sometimes she is ashamed of being  German because of what happened.  I always tell her she should not blame herself, mostly because her grandmother and grandfather hid a Jewish family.  I think that her grandparents were brave and admirable when they made that decision and I am pretty sure that the family they housed got to freedom.

I will never be able to wrap my brain around how people thought that slavery was okay in any sense.  Just because someone has a different skin color then you It doesn't mean they need to be your own personal slave.  Some of this country's history really disgusts me when I think about it. I mean really, the main problems in history were about race.  Well I could go on forever about this topic but I do have one more thing to write about.

Sometimes I go to my local park and just sit and people watch.  I think some people show their true colors when they get angry, I wish that more people could be more true to who they are and not be some stereotype that society thinks is "perfect".  Well I guess some people think they are not good enough so they have to change themselves.

All in all I think that when in a pinch human beings will help each other despite race.  Anyways I hope we would.
