There are a myriad of drinks that are said to help you lose weight fast. As logical adults, we all know that there is no magic drink to lose weight, but there are some drinks that can help, with proper diet and exercise. One such drink is green tea; it is showing up on weight loss plans more frequently each day. But what makes this specific tea such a beneficial weight loss ingredient? Here is a short list of just some of the reasons why green tea helps you to lose weight.
1) Burns fat. Green tea has many fat-burning properties. First and foremost, it contains caffeine which is a well known fat burner. But it also contains antioxidants called catechin polyphenois; these antioxidants quickly intensify your body's oxidation and thermogenesis which burns up fat cells, helping you lose weight. The whole process of oxidation increases your overall metabolism which just further boosts weight loss.
2) Let's you exercise longer. Green tea has the ability to slow down the rate your body burns carbohydrates while active, meaning, when you are active, you will not tire as fast since carbohydrates are what your body uses to do things. Since your body is not burning as many carbohydrates as before, it goes to the next best source for energy: fat. This all results in not only more fat being burned as you exercise, but a larger amount of time you can work out. Thus, you lose much more fat and weight thanks to drinking green tea.
3) Slows the making of fat. Green tea does more with carbohydrates than just slowing down the rate they are burnt; it also slows down the rate your body can turn carbohydrates into fat. The tea is believed to inhibit fatty acid synthase which is the system involved directly with turning carbohydrates into fat cells.
4) Other health benefits. Green tea contains vitamins, protein and other nutrients your body needs. While as stated, green tea will help burn off fat, it also gives your body plenty of beneficial things. Green tea is also believed to help prevent cancer, diabetes, liver disease and many other health risks. So just in case you needed more reasons to be drinking green tea than just weight loss, there is a large list of additional reasons.
Green tea is a great drink to help with weight loss and your health in general. While it alone won't magically make you thin, having a cup or two each day can be greatly beneficial to your pursuit to lose weight and shed fat.
