Many paid to write sites pay you based on the number of page views you get. The more page views you can generate the more you will get paid each month. While some writing sites do a great job of promoting their writers work, others leave the promoting all up to you. Generating page views can be a lot of hard work but well worth the effort. Here are several ways to increase traffic to your articles.

Learn SEO

The best way to increase views to your articles over the long term is learn as much as you can about search engine optimization. Using keywords the correct number of times in your article will help ensure that your article gets a high rating on the search engines which means more people will know of your article’s existence. While many people recommend a keyword density of 2%-5% this is really keyword stuffing and detracts from the articles content. Using your keyword 1% to 2% will get it picked up by the search engine and will enable you to write a better article overall.

Having two or three keywords to generate your page views helps more than having a single keyword and keyword placement is important as well. You want to try and place your keyword at least once in the first paragraph, once in the second, and once in the last paragraph, and then scatter it through out the rest of your article. A good rule of thumb is to use your keyword once every 100 words.

Link to Past Articles

You can also generate more page views for your articles by linking them to one another. For example, take this article on generating page views. Once it is written you may later write an article on freelance writing. You can mention in that article the need to generate page views and then provide a link for this article. Anyone who reads the freelance writing article and finds it interesting is likely to click on the link to this article and thus increase your views for this article. Providing links to previous articles whenever possible is a good way of keeping views and interest in your articles for longer periods of time.

Get Your Friends and Family Involved

When you first begin getting your articles published it is only natural that your friends and family will be interested in your success and they can help you get some initial views to your articles. Sending an email to your friends and family members with links they can just click on to view your articles makes it easy for them to find your articles to read. Including a note asking them to
