Each blogger knows that getting comments on content is truly exciting. It allows writers to receive praise and constructive criticism on their pieces. Comments enable direct communication with the readers of a blog.
Provoking readers to post comments is tricky. Sometimes even the best blogs have troubles in stimulating visitors to leave feedback. To get responses, an author should get actively involved. Blogging is much more than simply posting pieces, it requires constant interaction with readers.
THE TONE AND STYLE OF WRITING
If you want your blog to be recognized as a place for the active and friendly exchange of ideas, keep the tone conversational. Be open and welcoming to your readers if you expect them to act in the same way.
When opinions are needed on specific issues, simply ask readers for their contribution. Blog posts that suggest discussion topics signify that you value the input of visitors. Once a discussion has started, respond to the comments you have received to encourage discussion further.
Address visitors who post comments directly. Thank them for the opinions and ideas stated. Ask further questions to make people come back and continue writing.
SOCIAL NETWORKING ANF PROMOTION
Use social networks to promote your writing. Increasing your audience means that you increase your chances of getting feedback on the pieces you write.
Include links to your blog posts in your Facebook profile. Twitter about your writings. If you are member of a forum, publish relevant links there. Forums often have policies against the promotion of other sites and blogs. Post your link in an intelligent manner – as a part of your opinion on a specific relevant topic. Including off-topic links is the most certain way to get them deleted.
COMMENT THE WORKS OF OTHER BLOGGERS
Wanting people to pay attention to your writing means that you should pay attention to the works of other bloggers.
Commenting in other blogs often enables you to use your name and to include a link to your posts. This will direct some traffic to your own blog.
In order to generate interest, you should post relevant and intelligent comments. Congratulate other bloggers on their good pieces, start a discussion if your opinion differs. Show that you are involved and eager about blogging.
Adequate comments are a certain way to get people to notice you. If they like the comments you write, chances are high that they will visit your blog to explore your opinions further.
