==Synopsis==

The film begins with a seed floating on the air toward Pixie Hollow; once it reaches its destination the seed is magically turned into the latest fairy. The follows a small ceremony which all fairies go through, to find out what their talent is. The new fairy looks at the symbols for water, light and gardening, but they all disappear. She passes by the hammer, but as she walks past it glows brightly, and it seems that the hammer has decided that this fairy will be a tinker. The queen therefore names the new fairy Tinker Bell.

Excited at first Tinker Bell follows the other tinkers to their workshop, but soon she realises that some fairies think that the tinkers are less important that they are, and to make things worse, Tinker Bell finds that she will not be allowed to fly to the mainland to help bring in the spring.

So Tinker Bell decides to find a new talent, which can only spell disaster.

==My Thoughts==

I quite enjoyed this film, there was nothing particularly exciting or inventive about it, but it was a pleasant film to watch.

I think the whole storyline was a bit of a rip off though, and a definite case of Disney riding on the back of the success of Peter Pan. Snip the wings off the fairies and you could have a Bratz or Barbie story; a group of girls take the new girl under their wing (no pun intended), whilst the 'popular' girl tries to make the new girl's life miserable and put her down.

It keeps the character of Tinker Bell quite well, in Peter Pan, she's jealous of the attention Peter gets, and in this film we can see that jealous streak again when she realises that other fairies get to go to the mainland and she can't.

The animation is very nice, it looks like an old style Disney film in that the characters are soft and well proportioned, but it has a modern look due to the CGI techniques used.

Unlike most Disney films it didn't have a sound track as such, or at least nothing that I can remember, certainly no big block buster songs like Circle of Life, or catchy ditties like Hi-Ho-Hi-Ho.

Although I enjoyed the film, I think Tinker Bell was better when she was the mysterious, odd little fairy from Peter Pan. Sometimes embellishing a character spoils it somewhat, and often less is more.

==DVD Extras=

Magical Guide to Pixie Hollow - A guide to different parts of the hollow, drawn in pen and ink, and looking more like the original Tinker Bell character.

Ever Wonder - Strange little non animated film, with clips of people in various locations (the park, outside their houses, etc), with added CGI in the form of pixie dust glow. Everywhere the pixie dust lands, one of the jobs mentioned in the film takes place.
