Review of the top 5 smartphones

by Zoe Bishop

Created on: December 27, 2009

Smartphones have come such a long way in recent years. Looking back, the first introduction to these handy devices were totally different, they had none of the functions of today and were certainly not as stylish. Now, however, smartphones have become somewhat a fashion statement. All of the celebrities use them, and as technology has progressed, the smartphones on the market today not only provide the latest technology but also look fantastic. This year there were a lot of new smartphones to enter the market, but for many people the previous releases will still top their list of the best smartphones. Some of the newer smartphones to be released have fantastic capabilities, as well as looking fashionable. Let's take a look at the top 5 smartphones.

5. BlackBerry Bold

The BlackBerry brand has been around for a long time now. They were one of the first to enter into the smartphone market. As the years have passed, BlackBerry have made amazing progress in terms of look and capabilities of their devices, and this one in particular just goes to prove that. There are, however, drawbacks to this device. The most obvious flaw in this design is the appearance of the device itself. The BlackBerry Bold is not a small device that can be put in your pocket. Not one is it large in width, but also in height. Whilst this may put some potential users off, for the most part, it wont matter because it is such a brilliant device. One of the main attractions to the BlackBerry Bold is the QWERTY keyboard. This part of the smartphone is what makes it so popular with business men and women. The QWERTY keyboard on this particular device is huge in comparison to some others. This makes it incredibly easy to type emails and messages without your fingers being cramped or any spelling mistakes due to small keys. Another great point about this device is the high resolution screen. The colours produced are as clear as ever, making it perfect for viewing pictures or videos. The BlackBerry Bold is also Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled.

4. Apple iPhone 3GS

This is the latest in the iPhone chain, and possibly the best yet. Unfortunately, popularity of the device seems to be going slightly downhill with professionals favouring the BlackBerry or other similar smartphones. This could be because of the fact that the iPhone has become a must have gadget for younger generations. It's stylish, a fashionable thing to own. As well as being Wi-Fi enabled too, the iPhone 3GS can be used as a touch screen MP3
