How to be a romantic date

"Love is always open arms. If you close your arms about love you will find that you are left holding only yourself." - Leo Buscaglia

Being romantic is difficult, considering that romance itself is a quality capable of provoking a great amount of curiousity.  It is hard to describe, and nearly impossible to define.  Yet romance is a necessary ingredient required in order to keep any relationship exciting.  At it's core, romance is expressed affection, but the way that it is expressed varies in meaning innumerably from person to person.

If we are to look at the roots of romance, and take what can be defined and what lies in common between romantic experiences, we can figure out what it is that makes a personality romantic.  Here are some of the ways you can change the way you think about love and tailor your behavior so that you are a more romantic date.

1.  Be Sincere

Sincerity is a definite quality of romance.  If it is not present, your love will not seem genuine.  The signals of false affection that you body may give off subconscious will affect your date in some way.  Make an effort to appreciate your partner's personality, and signal to them that you are truly interested in them and what they have to say.

2.  Exert a conscious effort

Romance is about the little things.  Everything that you say and do has an impact on your partner.

3.  Be Spontaneous

The reason that love sometimes fades with age is because it becomes indifferent.  At the beginning of a relationship, things are often remembered as most romantic because this is the time that everything is new and exiting.  If you are seeing your date and come across as predictable, he or she may lose interest in you and not know why.  Make it a habit to find a new way to be romantic each day.

4. Recognize what makes your partner unique

Everybody is different, and responds in different ways to the way you react to them.  Learn about them and tailor your behavior to the individual.  The definition of romance varies from person to person because the people themselves are different from each other.  If you get to know your date, your behavior will seem much more romantic to them.

5. Examine yourself

Reflect upon the way you are speaking and the way people react.  Learn from yourself and from your mistakes.  You need to practice your romantic personality in order to maintain that trait, and you cannot do this without a little self reflection.
