You've managed to survive the wedding , the honeymoon and the first year of marriage, now what. Many marriages don't survive the first year of marriage because the excitement and romance of the dating, the engagement and ultimately the wedding. As the excitement dwindles the couple settle into everyday life. Now is the time to learn how to live together on a day today basis while keeping the romance alive. There are many ways to keep your marriage alive wit romance. First and foremost is to put your spouse first, they need to know that they are still desirable and not be treated as a prize they have won and now they can just sit back and reap the rewards. Marriage is not the end it is the beginning and now thereal work really begins. Keeping a marriage alive and vital is hard work. Your wife or husband is going to need to feel that you love him or her every day and that he or she is an important part of your life. Flowers and candy are always a welcome surprise but as time goes by you will need to be a little more creative if you want to keep that spark in your relationship.
A date night is a good way of keeping that love connection going. The excitement of a date night will keep that romantic mood going long after the marriage. Now don't get me wrong, it will take a little more thought than which restaurant we will have dinner at tonight. Date night isn't always a reservation at a fancy restaurant, its setting a romantic mood. A date night could be a home cooked meal, cuddling in front of the fireplace or running a hot bath with rose petals and candles throughout the bath room. A moon lit picnic will add an air of romance and let that special someone know how much you care. Date night will become especially important when the family starts to grow because time for each other will be harder and harder, but this is when that special time together will be a life saver.
Special surprises like a romantic weekend trip is another way to tell that special someone that she or he is always number one. Treating him or her to a day at a spa will show how much you appreciate everything they do. A surprise luncheon date or a love note in their bag or pocket can brighten up your spouses day and bring a smile to that special someone's face. Returning to that special place where you first met, your first date or the place where you first realized that you that this was the person with whom you wanted to spend your life.
What ever you do make it count. Let your heart speak in the form of your actions and effort you put into your marriage. Remember actions speak louder than words so let your actions tell him or her how much you love them. If you open your heart, that special someone, your loved one will fill up the space with their love. Keep your marriage alive by treating everyday like the first day that you realized that this person is the one with which you want to spend your life.
