Poetry: Life & love

Never Was it a Lie

So the times have changed
The distance has grown
I'm feeling deranged
The decision was my own

We grew apart as the time went on
We tried so hard to make it right
But now this is all gone
You're out of my sight

Mistakes were made
Our love fell apart
Did our feelings fade?
Or was it like this from the start?

It's hard to know what
It's hard to know why
We couldn't make the cut
Was it all just a lie..?

Never was it a lie
Our feelings were great
For now we must say bye
Our time is now late

We can't change our feelings
It was all so right
Throughout our dealings
We always overcame the fight

Our paths may now diverge
But our love is still there
Maybe one day we'll converge
But for now we must bear

Wouldn't it be great
If we were brought together again?
We'll have to leave it up to fate
In order to escape the pain.....
