Tips for buying an LCD TV

Before you commit yourself to getting yourself an LCD TV,  you need to honestly ask yourself whether you really need one. Some good reasons for having a new LCD TV is that your old analog TV no longer works as well as before and it is hard to get it repaired. You want a TV that can provide sharper pictures and an LCD TV can provide you with that. Another reason is that you got an important equipment that can only work with LCD TVs.

To purchase an LCD TV,  you need to take some important factors into consideration which include your budget,  the brand names your comfortable with,  the size of the room where you intend to place the TV,  and purpose of buying it.

Firstly,  have a good look at the size of room where you are planning you place your new LCD TV. If it is a small room,  it is no point having a large one as you may feel uncomfortable viewing it due to the maximum distance between you and the TV can you have. If your new LCD TV is small,  you may be straining your eyes trying to view it from acertain distance in a large room. Also,  if you plan to have a home theater,  a small TV is definitely not an ideal choice.

The next important aspect you need to look into is the quality of the picture which is measured in terms of hertz. For example,  200 hertz LCD TV provides better quality pictures than a 100 hertz TV. This I learnt when I went shopping for a new LCD TV some time ago. Once,  you have decided the size and the number of hertz,  you can consider looking at some brand names you arecomfortable or are familiar with. This includes brand names with good reputations. Once you have decided what brand you are looking for,  decide the size of the TV.  The general rule is for the further you have to seat from the TV,  the larger the TV has to be. Common sizes include 15" or 38.1 cm, 16" or 40.64 cm, 17" or 43.18 cm, 19" or 48.26 cm, 20" or 50.8 cm, 22" or 55.88 cm, 23” or 58.4 cm, 24" or 60.96  cm, 26" or 66.04 cm , 27" or 68.58 cm, 32" or 81.28 cm , 37" or 93.98 cm, 40” or 101.6 cm, 42" or 106.68 cm, 45" or 114.3 cm, 46" or 116.84 cm, 47" or 119.38 cm, 52" or 132.08 cm, 57" or 144.78 cm, 65" or 165.1 cm.

Once you know what size to choose from, use the Internet to find out the prices of the brands your trusted that offer the size you prefer. Also keep an eye on any special offers available that may help you save money on purchasing your new TV.
