“A Child’s Most Wonderful Time of the Year”
(London)
Tonight’s the night, the most magic night,
filled with candy, high hopes and egg nog,
I’ve been such a good girl, curls in a twirl,
wonderin’ if ‘ol Santa will make it thru fog.
With fireplace lit, all Plum Pudding split,
into servings just right for mum and pop,
I dawdle and mozy, to comfy, very cozy,
tiny window seat facing a waving hilltop.
As I gaze into the star-filled Christmas sky,
visions of lollies and ragdolls slowly fly by.
Then, sleepily, I ventured up winding stairs,
to gentle repose for the nigh, less my cares.
Awakened by sleigh bells enlightening the air,
I scurry up to my window most totally unaware,
that “Father Christmas” has arrived in full gear,
to spread good tidings to one and all this year!
