WARNING:spoiler alert

Well, Halloween is here and it is time, once again, to gather up the kiddies with their bags of candy and cuddle in front of the television for a spooky holiday film. The only thing standing in your way is..."Is this movie too scary for my child?"

Have no more worries because I have compiled a nice little list of great films for you and your young ones to enjoy.

1) MONSTER HOUSE

Is a wonderful animated story about three pre-teens with a very spooky house in their neighborhood. They take it upon themselves to spy on the old man inhabitant and find that the house is actually "possessed" by his, once terrorized, late wife. All in all this movie is great for any age group with a heart-warming ending.

2) THE HAUNTING HOUR: DON'T THINK ABOUT IT

Staring Emily Osment based on the book by R.L. Stine. Is about a young "goth" girl who stumbles upon a hidden Halloween shop to buy a book. Once the book is open it unleashes a slimy monster that Cassie (Emily Osment) and her new friend to defeat.

3) THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS

An animated movie by Mr. Tim Burton can be either seen at Christmas or (in this case) Halloween time. Jack the Pumpkin King, of Halloweentown travels to a new world. The world of Christmas with his ghost dog, Zero, to bring joy to those of sad-spooky Halloweentown.

4) LITTLE MONSTERS

Staring Fred Savage of The Wonder Years. Brian (Fred Savage) meets Maurice, the friendly and just a little bit crazy, monster who lives in the monster world under Brian's bed where he teaches Brian all the secrets of the "little monsters" and where he can always go to find some adventure.

5) HOKUS POKUS

My personal favorite, staring Bette Midler, Kathy Najimi, Sarah Jessica Parker and Vinesa Shaw. The story of the three Sanderson sisters who were hanged in the Salem, Mass. witch trials who come back to take their revenge...300 years later. A teen boy taking his kid sister trick-or-treating runs into a girl he has a fancy for and tries to impress her by taking her to The old Sanderson House. Thats when they accidentally bring the sisters back to life. The witches have one night (Halloween) to renew their life force lest they disappear for good. Will the kids be able to stop them before it is to late?
