There are two matters that need to be addressed and clarified: 1. What is a Christian?, and 2. What is Christmas?
A Christian is a person who claims to be a follower of Christ, ergo Christian. Christ-mas has nothing to do with Yahshua because he was never called Christ during his day, during his life, and I dare say anywhere in writings yet to be uncovered. The celebration of Christmas is a cover up for the continued celebration of occultism and paganism that existed long, long before the birth of Yahshua.
December 25th has been celebrated for centuries, long before the birth of Yahshua. My limited knowledge and research has lead me to the doorstep of the church I was brought up in, the religion called Roman Catholicism, that has admitted changing YHWH’s appointed holy and feast days…to suit that religion; so as to please the peoples, and heaven knows what other selfish reasons; even to, “Lead my people astray?” God forbid if that be a truth. I am not saying everyone; I’ve known and know some marvelous men and women of God in that religion, as in many other religious denominations. I am saying, however, that someone with a lot of power and with a lot of power, and I dare say money behind him, made that change and not for any religious benefit or good.
Tell me people; just how many of you really, really enjoy what Christmas is supposed to be all about. If it were true that it is Yahshua’s birthday, then why in heaven’s name aren’t we at peace and joyful. I have no problem in saying that it has to be one of the least peaceful and most stressful times of the year. The only time there might be a sense of peace is when you’re fortunate enough to dim the pounding noise in your head of all the things you need to do, “to get done in time so you can enjoy the season,” sufficient to perhaps hear a few beats of a song like, “Silent Night.” It doesn’t last and tell me, how exactly do you feel when it’s, “all over?” Let down, deflated, burnt out…and beginning to wonder where the money is going to come from to pay the credit card bills once they start rolling in a month later?
The word Christmas is really two words: Christos (Greek) and missa (Latin); the first meaning “anointed” and the latter meaning “depart”. Both of these are inherited from
